Brendan Foley

PRE-LICENSED COUNSELING INTERN

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
— Marcel Proust

Brendan Foley is a counselor-in-training pursuing his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University.

Guided by evidence-based practices, Brendan takes a collaborative approach to counseling, recognizing that each client is the expert on their own experience. He strives to be an advocate and supportive partner in each client’s journey toward growth and change. Together, Brendan and his clients explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences through a holistic lens, working to better understand each person’s unique perspective. Therapy is a place to identify meaningful goals, build on existing strengths, and develop skills to approach life with greater understanding, resilience, and self-compassion.

Brendan believes that change is an ongoing part of being human and that, through the brain’s capacity for growth and adaptation, people can cultivate hope and create meaningful change. Drawing from Interpersonal Neurobiology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy, he helps clients move toward greater self-awareness, healing, and connection.
