Mary McCorkle is a counselor-in-training pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University.
Mary believes that every person is worthy of respect, compassion, and understanding, and that each individual brings a unique perspective and story to the world. She recognizes that everyone experiences seasons of feeling stuck or uncertain, and considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, explore new possibilities, and move toward greater fulfillment and wholeness.
Mary takes a client-centered approach to counseling, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered. She believes it is important to consider the relationships, family systems, cultures, and environments that shape each person’s experience, helping clients identify meaningful goals and create change that extends beyond the individual.
Mary’s studies have focused on ethics, spiritual integration, human development, and systemic perspectives. In addition to her academic training, Mary brings nearly 20 years of experience living and working in cross-cultural settings overseas. These experiences have shaped her ability to connect with others through curiosity, compassion, openness, and hope as she walks alongside clients on their journey toward healing and growth.
